Virtual Computer Starts Partner Program to Help Providers with Client-Hosted VDI

By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor

Virtual Computer, a provider of intelligent desktop virtualization, combining client-hosted VDI with centralized management, announced that it has charted a new global program to help service providers and managed service providers (MSPs) stand-out from the rest by selling client-hosted virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solution that is capable of delivering on what server-hosted VDI had promised.

According to Virtual Computer, its own NxTop is an intelligent desktop virtualization suite, which combines Client-Hosted VDI with centralized management, making managing thousands of desktops as easy as managing one. It is claimed to be the first product in the industry to combine centralized management with a Type-1 client hypervisor and supposedly offers IT professionals with full control over the endpoint device, gives users new levels of flexibility, and slashes costs at the same time.

Officials with the company commented that the new program comes as welcome news to many solution providers and MSPs that have felt the pain of customers’ inactivity or delays in desktop virtualization projects due to the cost, complexity and limitations of server-hosted VDI deployments. Virtual Computer has created a channel program that will help its partners revitalize desktop virtualization opportunities without the high cost and implementation hardships that eat away at profit and productivity.

Some of the features and benefits offered by NxTop solution are: puts desktop virtualization on the local computer removing the need for major data center and network upgrades; high-friction IT activities are converted into simple, efficient, one-to-many operations; seamless integration with complementary server-based desktop and application delivery products which guards client investment; layered security, integrated disk encryption, and hardware-independent images make damaged PCs a non-event; multi VM support; comprehensive hardware support; and more.

One of the partners of Virtual Computer acknowledged that after evaluating different solutions, they recognized Virtual Computer's NxTop solves complex problems for customers that are committed to desktop virtualization, as it is easy to implement, cost-effective, and reaches a base of users that other desktop virtualization methods can't reach.
