dotMobi (News - Alert), a wholly owned subsidiary of Afilias Limited, has announced that its cloud-based goMobi service will now be available on the industry-leading Parallels virtualization and automation platform for Web services providers. goMobi provides businesses with an easy and cost-effective way to create mobile websites that enhance user experience on virtually any mobile device.
In a release, Eileen O'Sullivan, chief financial and operating officer of dotMobi said: “dotMobi has taken advantage of the Application Packaging Standard (APS) in making goMobi available to the more than 10,000 Web services providers and resellers who use the Parallels’ Software as a Service (SaaS (News
- Alert)) model. As a ‘pluggable’ APS application, goMobi is available for simple, rapid deployment by Web services providers, who can rapidly increase their revenues by helping businesses ‘goMobi’.”
As mobile browsing gains precedence over desktop traffic, goMobi is focusing on incorporating the potential of mobile Web into an easy-to-use Web application. Web services providers will now be able to provide goMobi directly through their site
John Zanni, VP of Marketing and Alliances at Parallels said, “goMobi gives thousands of Parallels service providers the opportunity to have an out-of-the-box offering that makes it easy for them to take the offering and up-sell, resell or bundle mobile websites to reach billions of mobile Web users in the global market today.”
goMobi websites harness various capabilities of the mobile phone to enhance and improve user experience. Characteristics which are mobile specific such as click to call, mapping, QR codes or the capability to integrate with social networks and location-based services can increase interactions with customers and develop strong customer relationships.
Google (News
- Alert) observed that 61 percent of customers, upon using their mobile phones to search for services, make a call to the respective local business. The mobile user experience can have a huge impact on the customer’s perception of a business.
goMobi also provides device detection, which means the customers who use their mobile phones to access a business’ desktop site are quickly redirected to the goMobi site. The goMobi website effectively enhances the user experience to match their specific mobile phone capabilities.
goMobi has been developed to perform as a fully integrated application within Parallels Plesk Panel 10 or directly from dotMobi as an APS application.
