Astute Networks and Veeam Software Partner at VMworld

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Veeam Software has joined hands with Astute Networks to optimize and bundle evaluation versions of Veeam's virtualization management suite with every Astute Networks ViSX G3 VMware accelerator.

Veeam Software, an Elite VMware Technology Alliance partner, develops innovative products for virtual infrastructure management and data protection. Customers can reduce costs, minimize risks and fully realize the promise of virtualization with Veeam.

To maximize the use of Veeam solutions with Astute's ViSX platform, the companies will engage in joint development for future product releases and other next-generation technologies. Also, to maximize the investment in and operations of virtualized environments, both companies will engage in joint channel marketing programs including webinars, seminars, customer training, and the development of white papers, the company stated in a press release.

“Veeam's dominance in the VMware market is unparalleled," said Steve Topper, CEO of Astute Networks in a company press release. "Tightly integrating their industry-leading management tools and data protection solutions with our patented Networked Performance Flash(tm) appliances enables customers to fully optimize their VMware investments by identifying and alleviating I/O bottlenecks and protecting virtual assets with highly accelerated datastore, backup, and replication performance.”

Getting rid of I/O bottlenecks to accelerate server and desktop virtualization and cloud computing performance, ViSX G3, featuring Networked Performance Flash, is a VMware Ready Certified patented network-based appliance and is shareable by all VMs over standard Ethernet networks. Coupled with the rich networked performance flash capabilities of Astute Networks' new ViSX G3, the combination of Veeam's robust management software solutions will bring integrated and best of breed products to virtualized environments, Veeam opined.

Recently, the company announced that it has entered into a strategic distribution agreement with Tech Data (News - Alert) Corporation in order to offer businesses across the United States optimum access of its ViSX G3 solution. According to company sources the ViSX G3 is a turnkey solution for VMware infrastructure that optimizes server and desktop virtualization by providing flash memory to virtual machines (VMs) over standard local area networks.
